In this short video, I am rounding the edges of an Exodus Gunleather custom holster. I wanted to share with you some of the processes and tools I use at Exodus Gunleather to craft your unique, custom leather holster.
The tool I am using in this video is called a bisonette edger. There are several varieties of leather edgers a holster maker can choose from to help in the task of profiling leather edges. The bisonette style allows me to profile the edge on an Exodus custom holster by either pushing or pulling the edger therefore giving me more flexibility with the one tool. This process for a leather holster would be comparable to a woodworker using a router and round over bit to shape the edge of a board.
Once the edging process is completed then I move to hand sanding, then to burnishing the edges. I will be adding short videos showing those processes in the near future. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you would like to see more details about this style of holster, the Exodus Slide Pancake, please visit this page.
Thank you,
Carl
